Poem on philanthropy
Dad draws a check
House is a wreck
Not worried about a job
Just about who he's going to rob
But he's robbing me
Can't u see?
We are no help at all
People need to hear the call
Of Why should We give!?
When this is how they choose To live

Weiner AR through the eyes of Isaac Davis
Imagine driving down a two lane highway breathing in the overpowering aroma of milled rice and freshly tilled soil.Eventhough Weiner, AR has a dwindling population of only 753 residents, two days out of the year "The Weiner Rice Festival" boasts being one of the most popular events in the South East U.S.
To begin, Weiner, AR is one of the most well known farming communities in the eastern delta. Riceland Food's processing plant can easily be seen for miles around. This structure stands twelve stories tall.
Furthermore, as one drives into town, they are overwhelmed by with the sweet sound of southern karaoke, flashing lights of the carnival rides, and the steady hum of a working rice mill. One of the greatest attractions is the tasting of the "Weiner dog", which is comprised of jalapenos, mustard, and hot sauce all stacked on a thick bratwurst.
All in all Weiner, AR is a simple agricultural town with few attractions. The Weiner Rice Festival is one of the many things that make me proud to call this community my home town.

Ad assessment
ADVERTISEMENT ESSAY
By: Isaac Davis
Have you ever smelled breath so terrible you feared for your life?! If you have, you still do not have it as bad as the small bird in this advertisement. Making this advertisement humorous and silly, the author has used this extreme dramatization to catch the viewers’ attention and make his ad memorable. Even being as humorous as it is, it still serves the intended purpose, to show that our dogs need Dentasticks to fix bad breath.
The purpose of the advertisement is to show pet owners that their dogs breathe is terrible, in some cases fatal, and needs to be controlled with Dentasticks. The artist has shown us pictures of a dog with his mouth open, killing a small bird with his atrocious breathe. He then offers us a way to fix it by putting a bag of Dentasticks in the ad saying “against bad breath.” He is trying to convince us that we need Dentasticks to fix our dogs breathe and he is hoping that next time we get a whiff of our dogs breath, we will think of his advertisement and purchase some at the store.
This advertisement has a silly, joking, and humorous tone, because of the cartoonish characters and the extreme exaggerations. The ad depicts a cartoon dog with his mouth open, killing a small bird with his breath. He uses the cartoonish characters in the advertisement to make it more humorous by giving them overly exaggerated facial expressions, and makes the bird appear to be dying dramatically in the cage. By making this ad funny and humorous, he puts that image in our minds, and the next time we think about it we will be reminded of how funny it was. We will then be reminded of what it was selling and will think to go to the store to purchase Dentasticks.
Using the silly tone and the exaggerations, the author has captured the attention of the public, and has shown that dogs need Dentasticks to fix their horrible breathe. By using the clarified tone and purpose the author has strived to make his ad memorable and sell his product by reminding us of his hilarious ad every time we smell dog breath.

I AM POEM
By Isaac D.
I am loud and country
I wonder what tomorrow will bring
I hear time rushing by
I see the hours flying by
I want a life filled with laughter
I am country and loud
I pretend to pay attention
I feel the school days passing slowly
I touch the clouds when I dream
I worry about our leaders......alot
I cry rarely
I am loud and country
I understand I am still young
I say that if you work hard, the rest will come
I dream of one day owning my own farm
I try to be everyones best friend
I hope that I can make it as a vet
I am loud and country,
AND I LIKE MY COUNTRY LOUD
